The car is getting a full underside restoration and it all starts with the strip down of the car in its current state. Welcome to Part 1 of the Honda S2000 underside restoration project. In this video, we kick things off by going through the brand-new parts for the build before starting the full strip down of the S2000’s underside components. The Honda S2000 is an iconic performance car, but as these cars age, the underside often tells a very different story. This series focuses on restoring, refreshing, and improving the chassis, suspension, and underbody to bring this S2000 back to its best — both mechanically and visually. What Happens in Part 1 Overview of new Honda S2000 parts for the restoration Removing tired and corroded underside components Strip down of suspension arms, subframes, and underbody hardware Preparing the chassis for cleaning, refurbishing, and protection First look at the condition of the S2000 underbody This initial teardown is a crucial step in any Honda S2000 restoration. By fully stripping the underside, we can assess wear, corrosion, and damage before moving on to refurbishment, powder coating, and reassembly in later episodes. Why We’re Restoring the Underside The underside of a car is often ignored, but it plays a huge role in handling, safety, and longevity. In this series, we’ll be restoring and upgrading key areas including suspension, bushes, mounting points, and chassis protection, while keeping the spirit of the original S2000 intact.
