The Constitution of South Africa's Bill of Rights is a cornerstone of democracy in South Africa. It enshrines the rights of all people in our country and affirms the democratic values of human dignity, equality and freedom. But how far has the country come in upholding and protecting these human rights? This morning, we are reflecting on the achievements and the milestones that have been made in the 30 years of our country's democracy, and how this has shaped our role in the global fight for universal human rights. Later this morning, President Cyril Ramaphosa will address delegates and global defenders of human rights, here at the National Conference on 30 years of Human Rights in South Africa. The conference will also focus on the assessment being made towards building a culture and respect for and promotion of human rights in South Africa. To talk more, we are now joined by Ronald Lamola, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
