Drift Ice Walking Tour Shiretoko (Utoro) & Snowshoeing the Shiretoko Peninsular (National Park).

Our adventures today takes us into the Shiretoko National Park area through snow covered lands and sea. The drift ice walking tour runs a various times and has a limited number of participants. We were on the late afternoon tour which was with a specular sunset. The guide had a command of English but knew how to say the warning words if you were near trouble on the ice. The snowshoeing tour runs twice a day and the guide is well versed in English. The equipment is provided but recommended you have your own to be more comfortable. Snowshoes are provided! The National Park has many brown bears so luckily as it was still winter they were all hibernating. It was a fun day out. We really recommend that you go on both these tours.
