David is back with the seventh official episode of the Carpe sweat series! In this episode, David tackles the topic of Compensatory Sweating and answers all of the questions you may have about it. What is compensatory sweating? Why am I sweating after surgery? What is ETS Surgery? What are the side effects of ETS surgery? And many more of your questions will be answered! You may or may not have heard of Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS) surgery before, but if you have, then you probably know that it is considered one of the strongest solutions for excessive sweating. But what comes with ETS surgery side effects that are just as strong. One of the most common side effects of ETS surgery is compensatory sweating. Which in the simplest form is when the ETS surgery destroys the sweat glands in one area of your body, the sweat will be forced to escape from a different part of your body. So if you have ETS surgery for your sweating underarms, you may suffer compensatory sweating in your hands and feet after the surgery. There are many mixed reviews over ETS surgery. Some people explain that the surgery was a great thing for them. However, we frequently hear stories of people who suffer even worse compensatory sweating because of the surgery and greatly regret their decision. There are many solutions to consider before jumping straight into ETS surgery or if you are currently suffering from compensatory sweating. The first solution is a topical antiperspirant such as Carpe's Antiperspirant Hand lotion. We have heard from thousands of our customers that the antiperspirant lotion has severely helped them battle excessive sweaty hands and excessive sweating as a whole. There are also a few other solution to consider such as Botox injections or anticholinergic oral medications, as they are less evasive than ETS surgery, but still come with side effects of their own. We always recommend talking to a Dermatologist or a professional before considering a more evasive solution for compensatory sweating.
