A federal judicial panel blocked Texas from using the state’s recently passed congressional maps, saying there was substantial evidence they were racially gerrymandered. The state is appealing to the Supreme Court. Governor Greg Abbott has set the date of January 31 for the runoff election for the 18th congressional district between Christian Menefee and Amanda Edwards. A federal judge struck down the display of the Ten Commandments in 25 school districts across Texas, including Conroe ISD. Both the House and Senate voted to release the Epstein files.
