Our plan was straightforward: 📍 Monday 5 January – Sylhet ➝ Dhaka 📍 Tuesday 6 January – Dhaka ➝ Istanbul ➝ London Heathrow (same day) Instead, everything unravelled. After reaching Dhaka late at night with my wife and three kids, we were hit with multiple flight cancellations and sudden schedule changes from Turkish Airlines. With no clear information, no support at the airport, and travelling with young children, the situation quickly became overwhelming. Despite repeatedly being turned away and told nothing could be done, friends and family back home stepped in to help. Thanks to them, we were finally able to secure a safe place to stay near the airport. 🏨 Hotel Stay: Holiday Xpress 📍 In front of Haji Camp (Askuna Road), Uttara, Dhaka-1230 Just as we settled in and ordered a very late dinner, another email arrived… ❌ Our rescheduled Dhaka ➝ Istanbul flight was cancelled again — with no new flight offered. This video ends right there. Part 1 captures the stress, uncertainty, exhaustion, and reality of travelling with kids when everything goes wrong. The saga continues in Part 2, where we try to figure out how (and when) we’ll finally make it back to the UK.
