Wild Brown Trout, Wet Sleddale, The Lake District May 23

Fly fishing for Wild Brown Trout at Wet Sleddale Reservoir in the Cumbrian Lake District in May 2023. There are not many places for free fly fishing in the Lake District but this is one of them. Near to the M6, Very easily accessed and good parking. Shops and Cafes in Shap, a five minute drive away if you forget your lunch or drinks. A location map is shown at the end of the video. This was a great day out fly fishing for wild brown trout but a little frustrating as many trout were rising but not taking flies. The only success I had was on a size 16 dry fly, and then only 1 take and 1 landed. I would still recommend it for a day out in a wonderful setting. Any suggestions as to what flies might work will be gratefully accepted. Equipment Used: Rod - 9' 9" 6# Guideline Elevation fly rod Reel - 5/7# Piscifun reel (From Amazon) Cheap and nice to use Line - 6# unknown make form fishing shop in Kendal There are many places to fly fish in the Lake District and some of these are shown in my other videos. Cumbria has many brown trout rivers and tarns and some of the higher tarns in the fells are free for fly fishing with a good head of wild brown trout.
