FestPAC Hawaii and Mana Maoli Collective artists from 11 nations in an 11-hour kanipila - we're still riding that high from Tuesday! Here's a few short but MANA-full clips - go check em go! Clip 1: The men of Rapa Nui performing powerful dances, backed by percussionists from Tahiti, Hawaiʻi and Solomon Islands @te.raai.rapanui @karikari.balletcultural @tahitimana and @kmkkaumaakonga Clip 2: So uʻi this beautiful mele sung by 2 legendary Hawaiian falsetto artists - Raiatea Helm and Kamakakehau Fernandez, joined by Kupu Collective artist Malie Lyman, @_pulapulaakama_ on slack key & more. Who can name this tune? Clip 3: What an absolute hammah hōʻike by the tāne and wāhine of the Aotearoa delegation! Clip 4: This performance from the Rotuman delegation will surely LIFT you up! While from some of our lens this may seem borderline (or over the line) inappropriate, it is actually more than ok, and a tradition with Rotumans, to break in the middle of song and lift up uncles, aunties, kupuna, complete strangers, do a squat, and anything else to have fun while outdoing their friends.
