In this video, you’ll see the complete construction of my San Felipe model ship in just 12 minutes! I built this wooden model ship between March 2024 and April 2025. A detailed building process can be found in the playlist of the San Felipe. I also did take detailed photos (some of them are not that great, unfortunately) of each major step, allowing me to create a timelapse of the entire process. This historic ship model was a challenging but rewarding build, featuring complex rigging, intricate planking, and detailed ornamentation. Throughout the project, I improved my ship modeling techniques, from hull construction to masts. It is the first ship where I so extensively experimented with weathering techniques.
