Adolescent Pregnancy in the Philippines

The World Population Day (WPD) is annually observed every 11th of July to raise awareness about global population issues and their impact on social, economic, and environmental aspects. In celebration of this year’s WPD, the Commission on Population and Development (CPD), UNFPA Philippines and Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD), hosted a media conference on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Bill, particularly to call on the Senate to pass this urgent measure. The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Bill aims to address the root causes of adolescent pregnancy by providing improved access to adolescent-friendly SRHR services, comprehensive adolescent sexuality education, and social protection programs for adolescent parents and their children.
