Direct comparison Gauge 1 steam loco Schorsch

In this video I show a 1 to 1 direct comparison of two current versions of a Märklin Gauge 1 locomotive, which at a cursory glance for non-model railroaders look pretty much the same apart from the paintwork. Both 739 mm long models are the reconstruction locomotive 18 314, which many railway fans also know under the nickname "Schorsch". A closer look and comparison reveals many differences between the models, because Märklin reproduced them in two very different stages of life. The model in black paintwork (Märklin 55125) corresponds to the original in 1960, when the locomotive still had coal firing and a coal tender. In 1967/68 the locomotive and the tender were converted to an oil-fired facility. The green-painted model shown in comparison (Märklin 55129) largely corresponds to the visual condition of the locomotive that is still in the Technik Museum Sinsheim today. In the last two and a half minutes of the video, I then show a production model of the Epoch IV variant with oil firing (Märklin 55127) in operation with smoke and sound and seven express train cars hanging behind the locomotive. For this direct comparison of the two models, I had two non-motorized photo samples on loan in May 2023, which can also be seen in my preview video (see video link below). In this video, however, the direct comparison was not in the foreground and was therefore scattered throughout the video. After I am repeatedly asked about the prices of the models I presented - Märklin has listed the 18 314 and the 02 0314-1 (items 55125, 55127 and 55129) at the RRP of 3990 euros.
