Yamaha had their new stage piano the CP73 and 88 ready for NAMM. I was trying out the 73 keys version. The interface is solid, relevant and easy to use. The keybed is good. The piano sounds are clean and Yamaha like, and the E.Piano section is great too. This is a solid stage piano. I think it'll see great success. This might sound strange, but I think this is Yamaha's best keyboard product in many many years. Great solid product! Watch out Nord! As one commenter said, there’s Soundmondo integration, which is a service where you can load and offload sound patches. And also USB memory integration for recalling patches and “sounds”. A “sound” is only a setting, and can not contain user samples. I have reached out to Yamaha about the possibility to load user, or third party samples, and they have told me that it does not support that. There is however more unused storage in the system, that could potentially be used by Yamaha for future updates of the sample libraries. That’s what they told me.
