24 January at Coombe Hill woods, the highest point in the Chilterns, near Wendover. My first silent film, I hope you'll find this calming to watch (and listen to the wildlife) as I find a secluded spot to spend the night in this open access National Trust woodland. I spend so much time home alone being silent and so I am used to the peace this brings...and being silent in the woods helped with the nerves I felt camping in a new place. The sense of belonging there built up as I moved around and set up my things....until I felt that the place held me safe even as the wind roared in the tall trees above the tent.
