President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the 67th Philippine Army (PA) Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony at Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City on July 31, 2025. The Commander-in-Chief awards the outgoing Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPA), Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido, with the Presidential Legion of Honor (PLOH) Award in recognition of his exceptional service and dedication during his tenure. He is also presented with various plaques and awards recognizing his invaluable contributions to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) since he assumed the role of CGPA in August 2023. Lieutenant General Galido is the first CGPA to serve two (2) consecutive years under the provisions of the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11939, series 2023, also known as the ‘Act Further Strengthening Professionalism and Promoting the Continuity of Policies and Modernization Initiatives in the Armed Forces of the Philippines,’ which amended R.A.
