Election trends at 1 pm show a complete revival of the Congress party in Haryana while interestingly in Maharashtra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which is considered junior alliance partner to the Congress, is ahead of it, says NDTV's Vishnu Som. The afternoon trends show BJP is leading in 38 of 90 seats in Haryana, Congress in 31 seats and the Jannayak Janata Party in 10 seats. In Maharashtra, BJP-Shiv Sena is leading in 161 of the 288 seats and the opposition Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is ahead in 98 seats.
