Code Failure on the Metropolitan Subdivision

On Wednesday May 21st 2008, a portion of the signal system on CSX's Metropolitan Subdivision went into code failure between Bucklodge and some point east during the afternoon. This resulted in some slow railroading, but allowed for some easy chasing of Q261-21, along with some shots of other trains that day. We begin with Q261-21 led by an SD50 & CW60AC at Washington Grove. Leapfrogging the train, it is seen again at Chestnut St, Metropolitan Grove, Clopper, and finally Boyds. At Boyds, D782-21 heads east for Benning with it's Joe Smith gons behind a trio of 4-axle EMDs. Following D782-21 is P884-21 also at Boyds, meeting P873-21 as it arrives for their station stop. #csx #gaithersburg #railfanning #sd50 #excon #rs3l
