Unlocking the Potential of Public Development Banks for Green and Inclusive Food Systems | Side Event at the 8th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance – Mombasa, Kenya 🌍 Organized as part of the 8th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance (WCRAF), this one-hour side event brought together representatives from regional and national public development banks, a bilateral development bank, and a regional credit association from Latin America to discuss how to scale investment in green, sustainable, and inclusive food systems. 🎙️ Speakers: Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC – Kenya): Highlighted the need for affordable long-term capital for green projects and partnerships in blended finance, concessional lending, and digital systems. Bank of Agriculture Limited (BOA – Nigeria): Emphasized digital finance, capacity building, and financial literacy to strengthen smallholder resilience. AFD – Agence Française de Développement: Presented the AGREENFI initiative, combining technical assistance and financial instruments to de-risk green investments.
