Aram Khachaturian (1903-1978) “Variation of Aegina", "Bacchanalia” from the Ballet "Spartacus" (1956), and "Uzun Dara" from the Ballet "Gayaneh" (1942) Sona Barseghyan, piano Armen-Levon Manaseryan, piano 00:00 Variation of Aegina / Spartacus 02:16 Uzun Dara / Gayaneh 04:37 Bacchanalia / Spartacus Arrangements for piano 4 hands: Ballet “Spartacus” by A. Gottlieb, Ballet “Gayane” by M. Karpova About the Aram Khachaturian Museum: The video was filmed at the Aram Khachaturian Museum, which is located in the center of Yerevan, Armenia. It was created based on the private house near Marshal Baghramyan Avenue and Plekhanov (now Zarobyan) Street, which was presented to Aram Khachaturian by the Government of Soviet Armenia in 1945. The decision to turn it into a House-Museum was made on July 21, 1976, during the composer’s lifetime. Maestro also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the sketches of the future House-Museum building project (author: architects Mark Grigoryan, Eduard Altunyan), writing his observations and recommendations on the title page of the project. The composer adored his house in Yerevan. Coming to Armenia, he stayed there, received guests, and created his masterpieces. During the last years of his life, Maestro had a wish to have, especially, a concert hall (where this 4 hands Piano Duo was recorded) in his own House-Museum in Yerevan, for different musicians around the world to visit and hold their concerts here. www.akhachaturianmuseum.am/en/museum/about-museum/ __________ With special thanks to the wonderful pianist, and director of the Aram Khachaturian Museum - Armine Grigoryan.
