It will come pre-spooled, of course... but synthetic line on a new winch will need to be unspooled, and respooled again, under about 500 lbs of load PRIOR to the first time usage in the field. In doing this pre-load spooling - is a great time to get used to how your winch operates, & will ensure your first time real-world usage goes well, and without the risk of your winch line binding up around the drum.
