Why We Switched from The Good and the Beautiful (2nd Grade Language Arts

We made a big change in second grade language arts and switched from The Good and the Beautiful. In this video, I share why it wasn’t the right fit for our child and what we’re using instead. We now follow the My Father’s World–recommended language arts approach, using Language Lessons for Today, Spelling by Song and Structure, and we added in the Lovevery Reading Skill Set to support phonics. This combination has been much more manageable, gentle, and effective for our homeschool. Lessons are shorter, focus on strong oral language foundations, and feel far less overwhelming for my child.
