This was a number 5 hit in UK in late 1968 and is a high speed version of Aram Katchaturian's classical piece arranged by Dave Edmunds. Dave is probably best known for I Hear You Knockin' but was involved in various collaborations after Love Sculpture's split and is a renowned guitarist and musician. The other two members of Love Sculpture, who are all Welsh, was John David on bass and Rob Jones on drums. Geeks, Nerds and Anoraks Corner. I recorded this in 2008 and was reminded of it by a piece I am currently doing which contains a short piece of it along with the Can Can and Hall of the Mountain King, but that's still in the pipeline owing to commitments in the garden. Watch this space! I can't say much about how it was recorded other than I played an Epiphone Sheraton which I no longer have and that the echo/reverb came from either a Zoom RFX 2000 or the Yamaha Magicstomp, both with Echoes From The Past. The overdrive came from a Korg AX3000G and it was recorded on a Zoom MRS802CD. The excellent backing track is from Dave Robinson's Backtrax Vol 5, but as Dave's fabulous version was very long I cut out the middle part to emulate Love Sculpture's more familiar hit version. Dave, now 80, recently had a very serious cardiac arrest but his wife Cici says he is battling on with both good and bad days. So Dave, get well very soon.
