Exploring Mammoth Lakes & Inyo Craters

Mammoth Lakes might be one of the most beautiful places in the Sierra Nevada, so I spent the day exploring some of the area’s most unique spots. I started the day at Horseshoe Lake before hiking through the forest to McLeod Lake, a quiet alpine lake surrounded by pine trees and volcanic terrain. After reaching McLeod Lake, I tried to continue exploring deeper into the area but eventually had to turn back. From there, I headed over to the Inyo Craters, a fascinating volcanic area just outside Mammoth Lakes. I explored the two lower craters before climbing up the ridge to get a view of the third Inyo Crater from above. To finish off the day, I made my way to Convict Lake, one of the most scenic lakes in the Eastern Sierra, surrounded by towering mountain peaks and crystal-clear water.
