Civilian protesters joining the monks in the protests with banners STORYLINE: Indonesian monks protested in front of Myanmar's embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital on Wednesday. About 35 Indonesian monks, stood with banners outside the embassy, urging the United Nations to help solve the crisis in Myanmar. The Indonesian monks, who are members of the Forum of Buddhist Solidarity for Burma, the former name for Myanmar, held banners appealing for an end to violence. Dissident radio reported on Wednesday that 90 of 400 monks detained in monastery raids were released by the authorities in Myanmar.
