Doron says, "AustiNuts was founded on a simple idea: nuts should taste fresh, crunchy, and full of flavor. I grew up snacking on freshly dry-roasted nuts, seeds, and dried fruits along the Mediterranean. When I later moved to Austin, Texas to pursue my doctorate at the University of Texas, I noticed something missing. I couldn’t find dry-roasted nuts with the same freshness and crunch I remembered growing up. So I decided to make them myself. "After apprenticing with skilled nut roasters overseas, I brought my vision to Austin and opened the first austiNuts retail store in 1993, complete with custom-built traditional dry-roasting ovens. Austinites quickly fell in love with the bold flavors, fresh crunch, and welcoming atmosphere. As demand grew, so did we. In 2003, austiNuts expanded into wholesale production, supplying retailers across Texas from our manufacturing facility. While we closed our original retail storefront in 2020, our focus on quality never changed.
