Roughly the size of an eyelash, the highly flexible Hydrus Microstent is placed by a doctor using microscopic incisions and advanced equipment. This less invasive approach allows for fewer complications and faster healing times than traditional glaucoma surgery. What is the Ivantis Hydrus® Microstent? The Hydrus Microstent is a small (the size of one eyelash), flexible device made of a biocompatible alloy of nickel and titanium (nitinol®) designed to be inserted into the trabecular meshwork and Schlemm’s canal using a unique delivery system. It functions as an “intracanalicular scaffold” to facilitate aqueous drainage from the anterior chamber. Eye News TV provides eye care education for both doctors and patients. Content creator, Tom Pace interviews ophthalmologists/optometrists and patients about the latest eye technology, customer experience, and patient outcomes. Other channels include Dry Eye News TV, Retina News TV, Glaucoma News TV, Cataract News TV.
