End-of-Line Case Packing & Palletizing System | Remtec Automation

Remtec was approached by a company in need of a case packing and palletizing system to reduce costs and increase productivity. This company produces products such as paper plates & bowls that get shipped nationwide. Discovering Remtec was one of the nation's top system integrators, the company met with Remtec to discuss the requirements, ideas, and vision for their end-of-line system. This resulted in the system shown here. At the start of the system, Remtec installed two Lantech case erectors. These are capable of erecting 12 SKUs at rates up to 25 cases per minute. As the cases are erected and conveyed down the line, two custom stackers that create stacks of packages prepare the paper plates and bowls to be moved into the cases. Featured here is one of the two Fanuc M-10iA case packing robots in the system. These have been fitted with a Remtec-designed custom End-Of-Arm-Tool to efficiently and easily pick up the stacked packages and place them in the case. With the cases loaded the conveying system moves them down to one of the two case sealers in the system. Like the case erectors, this Lantech unit is also capable of running 12 SKUs at rates up to 25 cases per minute. After being sealed the cases then come to a Fanuc M410iB/140 H featured here. Remtec also designed the End-Of-Arm-Tooling for this robot, which is a custom vacuum. The robot palletizes the sealed cases from both the case packing robots and it is capable of palletizing all 12 SKUs as selected from the system's HMI. As shown here the cases are palletized in two separate locations on corrugated plastic sheets which are recirculated through the system. After the pallets have been fully loaded they are conveyed down to a Lantech stretch wrapper that automatically wraps each load. With the system fully in place and running smoothly the company has been extremely pleased with the results!
