In today's episode of Vox Friendly Pedals, we are looking at the Xotic Effects BB Preamp v1.5 with a Vox AC15c1. I first heard of this pedal because of the mighty Andy Timmons. Now there is a player who knows a thing or two about great guitar tones. I've always been curious to try this particular pedal with a Vox amp. Many say that this is a Blues Breaker type of pedal, but upon closer inspection, it has it's roots closer to a Tube Screamer, without the lack of bass or nasal sounding mid frequencies. From clean to cranked to 10, the BB Preamp has a useable gain range. It works great with single coils and humbuckers alike. In this video, we'll explore different tones, using different guitars, and will also check out what the controls do using the typical sweep tests.
