From the 3-night, sold-out, February 2015 premiere at Joe's Pub in New York City, "Caught My Eye" performed by Martha Redbone and company from her latest project, "Bone Hill". This interdisciplinary theater work that brings to light an important piece of American history that has remained untold. The music is radically wide-ranging: from traditional Cherokee chants and lullabies to bluegrass to blues, gospel, jazz, Rock & Roll, RnB, and funk. The story is simply radical: uncompromising in its desire to be honest about uncomfortable subjects and especially the subject of race in America. "Bone Hill is the true account of my ancestors, of post-slavery, and people of color working in the coal mines of Appalachia amid the laws of Jim Crow and our survival as the original people of that land as the world changes around us through the generations," explains Redbone.
