Join us for another World Pollinator Week craft with Junior Zoo Keeper, Madi! A great way to bring hummingbirds to your yard is with sugar water feeders, which we are making today. These feeders give the pollinators a chance to rest and rejuvenate as they spend the day darting around and pollinating plants. To make this craft, you will need: A jar with a lid Twine Non-toxic paint A nail A hammer Sugar Water Sugar water recipe: 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. To make one cup of sugar water, use 1/4 cup of sugar and one cup of water. National Pollinator Week was founded fourteen years ago by the United States Senate to address the issue of declining pollinator populations. Pollinators, which include many species of bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles, are crucial members of our planet's ecosystems, and are responsible for one of every three bites of food eaten by humans. Check back throughout the week for videos, crafts and fun facts celebrating pollinators from around the world and right here in our Colorado back yard! #PollinatorWeek
