The first of it's kind for Cornwall Partnership NHS FT, Sowenna is a purpose-built CAMHS unit providing inpatient treatment for 13-18 year olds. We worked together with Ryder Architecture and the Trust to select the right doors for this unit. We wanted to focus on reduced ligature risk, reliable anti-barricade access, and improved robustness while empowering patients with electronic access to their bedrooms and providing a recovery-led enviroment. To achieve that, the trust adopted some of Safehinge Primera innovative technology including: Anti-barricade doorsets - https://www.shp.help/bedroom Full-door ligature alarm - https://www.shp.help/alarm Electronic locking with emergency override - https://www.shp.help/eac Load release en-suite doors - https://www.shp.help/en-suite We heard from some of the key stakeholders at Sowenna about the impact of the facility and the importance of getting the doors right. Find out what they had to say in this short video. Thanks to everyone involved in making this video especially Cornwall Foundation Trust and Ryder Architecture for providing insights into the project and its very important impact on the local community.
