Land Rover Series Chassis Numbers and Details can tell you which model Series you actually got. And in this video I take you with me on the process of decoding my Series IIA numbers and details. Series 2a was in production from 1961 to the release of the Series 3 in 1971. I saw a range of small changes and updates and with it came the Suffix system to the chassis numbers. This is a Series 2a Suffix D, but maybe with a twist. You can find chassis numbers on the body plate inside the cabin, on the chassis it self on the front right dumb iron, on both the front and rear axel, the engine and gearbox. For the rest of the facts about your classic car, you will have to look for production dates and such, or other tell tale details. Ask a Series expert(nerd). I don't have the full facts ready yet, but I hope that you, my Land Rover friends, would help out and share your insight into the numbers on this car. I have requested documents from the British Motor Museum, but it will take a while until I have them. So I thought it was best to just share the video now and add to it later with an update. A completely original car is very cool, but is it what we have got here? Watch the video and see for you self and let me know in the comments what your thoughts are! I love this Classic Car Restoration Project and I hope you will follow along with this Series 2a Land Rover build.
