In this connection, this morning, Inspector Kuldeep Singh, in-charge of CIA-1 staff, received information that some youths were roaming around with weapons. The CIA-1 staff in-charge immediately formed a team under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Satyawan and dispatched them. This morning, at around 5 AM, the CIA-1 staff team was patrolling near the Jasia-Dhamad road when they spotted five suspicious youths in a car. When the CIA-1 staff team approached the car, the youths opened fire on the police team. The youths fired at the police with the intention of killing them. The police team defended themselves. The police team, acting bravely and promptly, fired at the youths in self-defense and apprehended them along with their weapons. The youths have been identified as Sahil son of Dayawan resident of Khedi Sampla, Praveen son of Randhir resident of Sampla, Gaurav son of Dinesh resident of Sampla, Mohit alias Kala son of Monu resident of Khedi Sampla, and Sunny alias Chamra son of Anil resident of Dev Colony Sampla. Accused Sahil was injured by a gunshot. The injured youth was immediately admitted to PGIMS Rohtak for treatment. A case has been registered against the youths at Sadar Police Station, Rohtak, under sections 132, 221, 109(1), 3(5) BNS and the Arms Act for firing at the police party with the intention of killing them, using illegal weapons, and other offenses. Illegal weapons, ammunition, swords, sticks, and a vehicle were recovered from the scene. The investigation revealed that the accused have a history of criminal activity. All three accused have cases registered against them for murder, robbery, snatching, and illegal possession of weapons. The accused have connections abroad. Their accomplices, based overseas, extort money from businessmen, doctors, and other prominent individuals through phone calls and other means. The accused create an atmosphere of fear by firing shots at the homes and businesses of these victims. The arrested individuals were planning to carry out a crime at the behest of their accomplices. Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the police apprehended the accused.
