It might mimic the same sensation as someone playing with your hair. I design my audio-focused ASMR videos to help you relax, focus, study, and/or fall asleep. As a highly-sensitive person who experiences ASMR myself, I try to create content that I myself would enjoy. Some people, like me, only experience ASMR with a binaural, ear-to-ear, or 3D sound type of recording.
