Let's go back through our memory reel to 2009-10 season, a quite strange one for Panathinaikos coming in as the defending Euroleague champions. It's Euroleague Top-16 Round 5 and, as an absolute surprise, the Greens have already disqualified from the Playoffs with a 0-4 record (losses vs Partizan, at Maroussi and two against Barcelona). So, they are facing Partizan in the stacked "Hala Pionir" as the Serbians are battling for a playoff spot. Despite not having any practical goal, Panathinaikos played with pride showing what that team was capable of even though too late. They dominated Partizan, as Drew Nicholas led the way with 22 points & 6/6 threes for the final 66-82! After the game Zeljko Obradovic mentioned that he was really proud of his players and their fighting spirit in every possession. Partizan eventually went to the Final Four that season getting beat by Olympiacos in the semifinal. Panathinaikos managed to win the Greek Championship against Olympiacos in the finals (1-3).
