This side event explores how CGIAR and its partners can accelerate the development of evidence-based solutions to help stakeholders tackle existing and emerging challenges. The session will showcase decision support solutions that leverage climate-smart technologies, and data-driven approaches to address pressing global agricultural challenges. A key focus will be on the importance of well-managed, standardized, and accessible data as a foundation for transforming agriculture, particularly in the age of Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies. Presentations will address the following topics, with audience reactions and panel discussion to follow: 1. Accelerating Climate Adaptation Exploring agronomic solutions to address climate change through resilience-building, emissions reduction, and resource efficiency. Highlighting the need for global alignment on evidence-based climate-smart approaches and overcoming barriers to scaling innovation. 2. The Solutions Space: Decision Support Tools (DSTs) Demonstrating how Decision Support Tools (DSTs) enhance agricultural productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability for smallholder farmers. Addressing challenges in delivering field-specific agronomic advice at scale and bridging the gap between precision agriculture research and service providers. 3. Empowering Solutions and Innovation Exploring the potential of data-driven transformation in the Global South, making a case for data standardization and open data sharing to power user-friendly tools for rapid innovation and decision-making.
