SECRET NORTH MACEDONIA! Why is NOBODY Here!? 🇲🇰

My North Macedonian road trip begins at the spectacular Kozjak Lake, a short drive from Skopje. I hired a car from Skopje airport and will begin the adventure at one of the country's most incredible and unspoilt lakes - Lake Kozjak (Езеро Козјак) which is set amongst the beautiful forests and mountains. On this road trip I’ll be going completely off the tourist route and finding some of North Macedonia's hidden gems and secret places. I expected the Lake and surrounding mountains to be much busier but at times it felt like I was the only one there. I found some parking outside a closed restaurant and hiked it along the cliff edge towards the Kozjak Lake & Dam viewpoint. The view from there was spectacular and I just couldn’t believe that nobody else was there. After escaping a few stray dogs hanging around in the car park I found a small road that weaved through the lush forests of Jasen Nature Reserve (Јасен - Исток) and then hugged the tortuous outline of the lake. I saw little villages in the distance and not much else - just a seemingly endless landscape of mountains and the wide open road.
