Feel a warm welcome (back) here. This time I want to show you my interpretation of a Tanuki Bonsai. Tanuki" refers to a technique where a living tree is attached onto a piece of deadwood to create the illusion of an ancient, weathered tree. This method is sometimes known as "Phoenix Graft." The term "Tanuki" comes from Japanese folklore, where a tanuki (a raccoon dog) is a mythical creature known for its ability to shape-shift and create illusions. In the context of bonsai, the technique involves carefully attaching a young, flexible tree to a piece of deadwood, often a branch or trunk from a tree that has naturally died. Over time, the living tree grows and wraps around the deadwood, creating a seamless and natural-looking integration. Please bare in mind, that these videos are fully just for entertain you all! I am pretty sure that there is a lot more informed and educated people out there who would know much more than me about this subject ;) Kind regards Attila Csintalan Instagram: / bonsaifangorn https://linktr.ee/bonsaifangorn #bonsai #wiringbonsai #bonsaitrees #bonsaistyling #bonsaistyle #gardening #gardendesign #tanuki #deadwood #driftwood #howto #japanesegarden
