COVID-19 Unified Central Hospital | Blanket Donation | Hami Nepal | Kathmandu

As the third wave of COVID-19 looms, we consider ourselves adequately prepared than we were during the second wave. As part of the nationwide measures, Bir Hospital has begun developing the third and fourth floors of the COVID ward. They required blankets during the set-up and sent us a letter of request for 500 blankets. We responded to this request because even our volunteers, too, experienced a lack of warm blankets during take-care shifts at Bir Hospital. They noticed that the blankets provided by the hospital were insufficient to resist the cold and were of poor quality. As a result, patients were required to bring their own blankets. So, realizing the importance of the situation, we assessed the request and with the cooperation of our determined and diligent team, we were able to donate 400+ blankets to Bir Hospital's new COVID unit yesterday. The blankets were donated in presence of director Dr. Bhupendra. This will undoubtedly provide warmth to the patients, allowing them to withstand the cold.
