When spring blooms so do I, I guess. I'm happy to have finally finished something after these past few depressing months. This is a very vulnerable and dear topic to me and I appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen. I first started writing this script in March, though I feel like it's been longer than that honestly. Initially, I was just going to speak about the email I received, and it was a discussion focused solely on the misconception of self preservation and self destruction that I have been wrangling with for the past few years. Essentially what was present in the first quarter of this video. At first it was titled like, "Your Art is Loved More Than You Know", and then "The Balance Between Self Preservation and Self Destruction (and posting your work online)" or "What Do Artists Owe Their Fans (even if you think you have none)" and stuff like that, but while wrapping up the script, I settled on this title. I'd seldom work on scripts - this is the only one I really had been updating in between working and recovering from work mentally, but over time it started shaping up bit by bit. (But I have been working on an introduction to sculpting video since November, no that doesn't mean I've been working on it cumulatively since November...I keep scrapping a lot of it haha. I want it to be very good). But every time I experienced something new, I'd add it into my wadded ball of thoughts that eventually became this video. I'm sure I could have held onto this topic a bit longer had I felt like it, but with my partner's move coming up rapidly, I'm no longer allowed to be complacent. The end of the video contains a discussion on some topics I brought up in the video that I'll summarize here for transparency. I'm now officially a YouTube Partner, and my videos are monetized. I don't know if I'll get much, but having any sort of income will really help me supplement my current income for when me and my partner pull the trigger in a few months. It's something I'm still not entirely sure about, but I want to try. With respect to the sponsors that have reached out to me and if future sponsors continue to, again I will reiterate I will only take sponsorships that I believe in wholeheartedly myself and can be genuine and honest about. I also want any sponsorships to be transformative in a way that is not solely beneficial to myself (ie a free no-strings giveaway of a drawing tablet to someone who cannot afford one, after being sent a tablet for review and using it in a video with a wider message about tablets and art or any other relevant topic). I will reiterate for clarity as well that I do not wish for my career to be a YouTuber. I just want to give myself a solid foundation to be able to succeed independently. So if adrev, sponsors, donations, merch or whatever can help supplement my income while I slave away on 3D projects in hopes of finding work in the indie or mid-level production scene, and I am still in control of what I do, then I'm happy with that. Though please don't misunderstand that I would be in a very bad position if this doesn't work out. My partner and I have a lot of savings from our current jobs. Don't worry about me ^^; !
