In this video, I show my technique of Air pump assisted DMEK which also helps in various steps of DMEK surgery. The technique helps in effective graft positioning and centering; in straightening infolded graft edges and in smoothening graft creases and wrinkles. In addition, the continuous pressure head also acts as a third hand that supports the graft and prevents graft dislocation as well as AC collapse during intra-ocular manoeuvers. It also additionally helps in tamponading hemorrhage from a peripheral iridectomy or synechiolysis, preventing ooze of blood into the AC from incisions, increasing surgical space and promoting graft adherence.
