Testing Garrard 121 4 HN-with a new pickup, and with LRS 2 (large Record Spindle) for 45's with no center,Garrard made a lot of this LRS but there is a lot of different models, you have to find out witch one hwo fit your player. As you can see-The new pickup is a modern type who fits this players perfect,it has the same flipover system as the old PU,one Needle for 45's/33 and the 78 records have its own needle by flipping over to the left in the front of the headshell-With this PU you can reduce the tonearm weigh and the player will be a little bit nicer to the records.Whoever the RC 121 4 HN is a plain mono player (you can not listen in stereo with this one) so i put a mono pu on.The player are connected to a Radionette Symfoni 3D Special (an old Radio with tubes, not transistors) Great Sound. The LRS 2 is a funny thing,it makes it a lot more easy to play 45's without centre,i bought two of them on E-bay (this part was not included with this players when people bought them in the 50's/60's) they had to puchace them themself, the funny thing with the LRS is that: Originally it's thin spindle on this players to stack some records on,you stack'em just half way until they reach a little chair for the records to to rest on,inside that chair comes a tiny mecanic thing, and just open up for just one record to drop, then it close for the next record until the first record is finnish, then it drop one another etc. That little mecanic thing,is tranfering into the LRS,you just put that outside the thin spindle ,and now it's the LRS taking over. So i bought a bunch of old used jukebox records on E-Bay some of this is what you are about to hear in this clip-this cilp was originaly for the norweian audience- so i've been subtitle the few words i say to english--enjoy:))
