Capital A (Christian Robinson) and his crew go to Dmitri's (Y'lan Noel from Insecure) office to thank Anna and Elsa for killing Dmitri, but Dmitri and his gang ambush him and kill them all, except for Anna and Elsa, who are told to never return to Staten Island. Dr. May Updale (Marisa Tomei from My Cousin Vinny and In the Bedroom) then proposes an idea: a Purge. During a period of twelve consecutive hours all criminal activity is allowed. During this night, everyone can evacuate their negative emotions by taking revenge or simply by engaging in gratuitous violence. For Dr. Updale it is the ideal way to vent violence and hatred and thus solve the problem of crime during the rest of the year. In 2017, the New Founding Fathers decide to test the idea. A Purge is launched on Staten Island in New York City on a voluntary basis. Islanders who agree to stay home overnight will be paid $5,000 and those who go out and commit murders will get a bonus. However, the experiment is a failure; while small groups are killing, most participants are partying and committing simple crimes. The New Founding Fathers decide to send in mercenaries to kill and make the experiment a success.
