I finally caved on the YZ build project and decided I needed more than just aftermarket parts thrown at the bike. I know plenty of people have done this before, but I just keep searching to get this bike as dialed in as possible for myself. Still feel like I'm just missing that last 3-5% to get it perfect. Follow along as I learn from Kelsey and his wealth of knowledge on two stroke engines. This was filmed and edited before Grindingstone, so there's even more than we've learned since then. I've tried and learned so much in the last two weeks alone that most people couldn't even fathom. We have established a solid baseline for now and moving forward it's just small tweaks to find that tiny little piece of the puzzle I'm missing. We've played with the GET for ignition timing, rotating the stator, slide mods, porting, head domes, power valve governor springs and shim stacks. It's been a wild ride and I keep learning by failure. Good thing is I'm making improvements with each still along the way and will be stoked once we nail this thing down. I could make a four hour Youtube edit of all the micro adjustments I've made since Grindingstone already, and it wouldn't even cover everything I've done. At this point, I'm just trying to keep everyone up to date on the big changes being made. Wish I negotiated an hourly engineering consultant wage from Yamaha in my contract with all the work I've done and mistakes I've made. At the end of the day, still proud of where I'm at now and I know there is still more to gain. https://2strokeheads.com/ https://www.athena.eu/en-us/ https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/Sa...
