The Beta 2 version of our custom-built OpenATV 7.4 image now includes AI translation for both DVB and Teletext subtitles on live channels. Image Version: 7.4.AI.b2 Changes Log: Fixed the issue where updating or upgrading with opkg would remove customizations; now the image has its own feeds. Resolved significant on-screen display (OSD) lag when subtitle translation is active. Resolved the spinning/loading issue experienced on certain channels, confirmed during testing on Travel4K (Hotbird). Improved overall performance. Known Issues: Conversations now stay on the screen until the next conversation starts. This issue has been partially fixed, although it still occurs on some channels. Supported Models: The current restriction on supported models during the beta phase is temporary. It's challenging for us to maintain numerous models in beta versions. However, once we reach the first official release, all popular brands and models will be supported. Supported Images: Our plan includes integrating our subtitle translation feature into all popular images, but we need to first ensure that the core functionality is performing optimally. We will then plan our integration accordingly Why not a plugin? We would be delighted if it were technically feasible to implement subtitle translation as a plugin. However, not all core functionalities are accessible from the Python layer, which is why we had to modify the core itself to enable this feature.
