The harsh reality of plastic pollution in our oceans: once a marine animal becomes entangled, its chances of escape are almost nonexistent. Most never make it to shore - dying unseen, their suffering unknown to those responsible. This seal was lucky. Caught in a fishing line and sinker, he hobbled onto the beach, barely able to move. Every step drove the line deeper into his flipper, inching him closer to losing it - and his ability to survive. One careless fisherman caused his suffering, but we will never know who. And there will be no consequences. We saved him.
