The Department of Recording Industry at MTSU is one of the oldest and most prestigious programs of its kind in the world, as evidenced by its consistent ranking on Billboard’s and Hollywood Reporter’s list of top programs globally. Boasting internationally recognized faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, renowned internship programs, study abroad opportunities, and an average enrollment of 1,100–1,300 students, the program’s quality is unmatched in recording industry schools worldwide. A mainstay on industry “top program” lists, the department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Audio Production and in Recording Industry with concentrations in Music Business and Commercial Songwriting. A Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Recording Arts and Technologies and an M.B.A. with a Music Business concentration are also available.
