Variety kid Joe gets a new power wheelchair!

This day has been in the making for a good long while: Variety teen Joe has been preparing to make the full transition from a manual to a power wheelchair. He had gotten just a taste of it earlier in the month, testing out a power chair on a one-week trial before it had to go back for some final tinkering. But now Joe is ready for a permanent upgrade. "It can be hard in this world for someone with disabilities," Joe's father says. "We want things to be easier for him, and easier for us as he gets bigger." With his new chair, Joe can raise up, lean back, stand, move through his home independently, ride through rough terrain and much more.
