Toronto teacher suspended after showing students video related to Charlie Kirk’s death

The principal of a school in Toronto’s east end says a teacher was temporarily suspended after showing students a video related to the shooting of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk was the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, a podcaster, and an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump. He was fatally shot while speaking at an outdoor event on a Utah college campus. In a letter to parents, Jennifer Koptie, the principal of Corvette Junior Public School in Scarborough, Ont., said a “portion of a violent video” related to Kirk’s shooting was shown to students in a Grade 5/6 class.
