Police from the Chitradurga Town Police Station have arrested five accused who allegedly tried to prepare a bill of about ₹15 lakh by forging the signatures of the DC and ADC. According to the preliminary investigation, a data entry operator named Syed Sadiq allegedly opened the ADC chamber and used office documents to prepare a bill in the name of VHM Enterprises. The bill was reportedly prepared under the pretext of releasing salaries for outsourced staff of the CLTC section and was intended to be submitted to the treasury. Based on a complaint filed by Reshma Hanagal, a case was registered at the Chitradurga Town Police Station. Police have arrested five accused and further investigation is underway. District Commissioner T. Venkatesh stated that disciplinary action will be taken against officials who showed negligence in the office.
