The idea of Naruto being reborn as things started with him being reborn as himself. What would happen if, instead of being an Inuzuka and having a Ninken, Naruto were just a Ninken itself? I felt like I could tell a story that was very interesting. So, for this story, let’s just turn Naruto into… say… a Shiba Inu. That kinda fits his personality, the breed has history in the series as a good companion, including with Indra and Asura, and further, Shiba Inu are very closely related to foxes, which is Naruto’s whole motif.
